Yangon (Morning Route)

Yangon (Morning Route)

The fifth largest city in Southeast Asia, Yangon is the cultural and commercial capital of Myanmar. Boasting the largest number of colonial-era buildings in the region, Yangon’s downtown is a bustling mix of leafy avenues, century old buildings, and engaging street life. Yangon is also home to the stunning Shwedagon Pagoda, the largest and most sacred in Myanmar.

Morning Route:
The tour departs Sule Pagoda for Mahar Wizeya Pagoda at 7 AM sharp. From there we proceed to Mahar Wizeya Pagoda, built in 1980 as a replicate of the Shwedagon Pagoda. We zip over to San Chaung for 45 minutes of visiting the historic Military Cemetery, Ba Wa Nar Monastery, or Daw Nyar Na Sar Yi Nunnery. And then, passengers will have 30 minutes to walk, shop, and visit traditional 'pantin,' bronze casting, workshops. Then proceed to the Pansodan Jetty passing by the central post office. There are a number of cruises that leave from Pansondan Jetty for a relaxing few hours on the Yangon River. And from Pansodan Ferry Terminal you can take a boat across to Dala, where you can see local markets and take in much slower pace of life on the delta; many locals commute across the river to Yangon, because prices are lower – and people poorer – in Dala. The tour ends in front of City Hall at Sule Pagoda.
