Day 1 January 11 (B\L)
Assemble at Yangon and Mandalay International airports. Your pleasant
flight leaves Yangon for Myitkyina, capital of Kachin State, via Mandalay. Upon
arrival, our tour operators welcome you and take you for visit to Manau Ground (
Auspicious Kachin New Year Celebration Ground), for a wonderful chance of photo
taking and participation personally at the celebration and dance. Enjoy Kachin
traditional lunch and Kachin rice wine at hotel. After lunch, your adventure
trip will start by 4x4 off road local vehicles and proceed to Tanai along the
Ledo Road (formerly known as Stilwell Road which the Western Allies started
building in 1942 to supply the Chinese armies of Chiang Kai-shek). Arrival at
Tanai in the late evening, for dinner and night stop at guest houses.
Day 2 January 12 (B\L\D)
After early breakfast, proceeds our journey to Shinbweyan along the Ledo
Road. On the way, have a chance to experience of crossing the two
flowing rivulets, Tawan and Tayon, by local Z crafts. Lunch packets will
be provided at Shinbweyan. Continue your journey to Namyun. Buffet
dinner and night stop at Naga Traditional Style Guest House in Namyun.
Day 3 January 13 (B\L\D)
A special adventure trip is being arranged after early breakfast, by 4x4
vehicles to visit Pangsaung. You will observe WWII. remnants along the
Ledo Road. Upon arrival at Pansaung, the first habitation in Myanmar on
the Ledo Road, you will take a short walk to the Lake of No Return (Nawng
Yang in Myanmar, the historical natural lake lying south of Pansaung)
and enjoy the lunch packet which will be provided. It is being called
Lake of No Return because of three legendary stories where a group of
Japanese Soldiers returning from battle, some US army road builders and
a British troop got trapped by the undergrowth and perished trying to
find the way back from this natural lake and did not return. Have a
leisure time around the lake and return to Namyun as scheduled. Dinner
and rest for the night at Namyun.
Day 4 January 14 (B\L\D)
Soon after breakfast, the traditional Naga Ceremonial Pole will be
erected at the festival grounds and various Naga clans in all their
traditional costumes will be there to participate in the only festival
of the year. After lunch break, you have a choice to explore on your own
the surrounding villages or the town of Namyun or enjoy traditional
sports events or enjoy your leisure as you like. Dinner and rest for the
night at Namyun.
Day 5 January 15 (B\L\D)
The Official Opening Ceremony of Naga New Year begins on the festival
grounds early morning. Partake the traditional food and rice wine with
Naga community elders. In the afternoon, enjoy the rare chance of
watching the First Annular Solar Eclipse of 2010, the central line of
which is almost passing through the Naga Hills. Finally in the evening,
by a large bonfire, everyone can participate and enjoy in welcoming the
Naga New Year by dancing around the bonfire.
Day 6 January 16 (B\L\D)
Early breakfast will be served in preparation to leave the Naga
Festival grounds. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking morning scenes
of Naga hills and mountain range. Take a rest at Shinbweyan and lunch
packets will be provided. And also to study the old runway used by the
Allied Forces aeroplanes during the WWII. Proceed to Tanai. Dinner and
rest for the night at Tanai.
Day 7 January 17 (B\L)
After breakfast, depart for Myitkyina. Arrival at Myitsone, the famous
picturesque spot where Maykha and Malikha meet to form mighty
Ayeyarwaddy River and lunch packets will be provided there. Journey to
Myitkyina Airport and heads back home, either Mandalay or Yangon. We
